Secretary of State Lieberman?
During the “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” segment of the Chris Matthews Show today, Telemundo’s Jose Diaz-Balart predicted that if Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) “wins the general,” Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) “leaves the Senate to become Secretary of State.”

3. To make up for the Senate seat that would be lost
McCain's departure leaves Governor Napolitano (D) to appoint a replacement. Lieberman's departure leaves Grandma Rell (R) to appoint a replacement.

And appoints a Secretary of State, I have a feeling that the governor of Delaware might have to appoint a new senator. She's a Democrat, so that should work out.
