I've noticed they're starting to turn up the heat on the war drums for Iran again..
http://wiredispatch.com/news/?id=37510...so as the closer we get to November and the closer we get to Bush and his criminals leaving office with as yet still unfinished business, will we see Impeachment brought back into the spotlight to hammer these crooks, to keep them in line?

Do you see Impeachment as "the nuclear option" for the Dems to use against the Bush Administration or is it completely dead?

I can't imagine how despicable it would be for the Dems to lose the General election in November and to never have brought Impeachment proceedings up in the House.

1. No!
We are STOOPID!

If ever there was a president who could be impeached without spending $40 million on pursuing a blow job allegation, it is now.

Bush will go down in history as a little Hitler. Americans will suffer for it.

Nancy Pelosi will go down in history as someone who smiled about the prospect of impeachment.

4. Ummm, how 'bout "No."

Any impeachment overtures at this point are posturing, possible well-place posturing, but still just posturing.

5. you mean somewhere between the talking points
the he said she said bs, between the clever one liners an rehtoric. They don't talk about specific issues and that topic is never brought up....ever. why? because they both think it will hurt them in the general.

6. I wonder how it would be perceived by the public-at-large...
would it beseen as the Democratic leadership finally mustering the will to prosecute these guys (and at least one gal) as criminals?

or would it be seen as a sign of desperation during a hotly contested election cycle...?

I wonder if, by waiting so long, we are damned if we do or damned it we don't...

9. Not During An Election Campaign
An impeachment...especially a poorly organized one...would turn into a corporate media feeding frenzy...and not the one impeachment advocates would hope. Politicians will play politics this year...their re-elections are more important and they don't want the distraction of a media circus/impeachment to deal with. It didn't help the GOOP in '98...it cost Gingrich his leadership and the GOOP lost House seats as a backlash. Yep, they still went ahead...but that was DeLay...without Gingrich or anyone else who got in the way.

And do you really think an impeachment will accomplish much now? Get rid of boooosh and cheney takes over. Gonna try to impeach them both between now and January? Good luck. And then what? How does this get the troops home? How does this fix a fucked up economy? This is the questions people want to know. They know who to blame and the time will come to address that matter.

Many of the crimes of this regime are yet to be uncovered and can't be investigated while these criminals are still in power. Any indictment will be met with a pardon and any push for evidence will always be met with "executive privilidge". These magic wands go away on 1-20-09 and, while its hard to eat this shit sandwich, I'd rather see investigations continue now that come forward next year under a Democratic president, a larger majority in the House and Senate and a newly rejuvenated Justice Department.

As I've long said, the crimes of this regime aren't just two people but a whole enterprise...ones who crimes aren't political but outrright criminal. The acts of this regime won't be properly addressed in a political show trial run by partisan politicians, but in world courts where ALL who are complicit in war crimes can be brought to justice outside the corporate media and toxic political environment in this country.

13. It's too late for impeachment.
I'm afraid when he leaves office the new attorney general will be limited to only one option. Prosecution.;-)

14. You say "impeach" they say Martial Law
...I would love nothing better than to see the Democratic Platform include "Prosecution of war crimes" right after "troops home from Iraq and Afganistan"

and then.... IF the Monkey's men knew that was coming, you don't think they'd burn down the world to avoid retribution? We'd see more than a stolen election...how about NO election?
These are madmen, and the more I understand, the more I can really see the scary-ness of their power, and their insatiable need for more...
I am not just making this up, or being a dramatic freak

15. Not unless someone wants to lose the election.
I think the only way we could lose the presidency, and possibly lose the Senate (probably not the House, would be to start impeachment.
