Smoke-In Planned at Wounded Rig Inc. (Video)
There are plans in the works to protest the Illinois law banning smoking in public buildings. Wounded Rig Incorporated will be packed with smokers on Saturday, in what the owner calls "an act of civil disobedience".

Williamson County State's Attorney, Chuck Garnatti, wants to remind everyone he doesn't write the law, he only enforces it. As far as this weekend's planned smoke-in, Garnatti says he plans to do nothing.

Garnatti says he thinks the law is designed to protect the rights of non-smokers.

"If a bunch of smokers want to get together in a small building and smoke and further damage their health that's their business," says Garnati. Business owner Jon Hemminghaus says health isn't the issue.

3. Thank you for that mental image
They'll probably do it, too. Plus, they'll find their eyes and lungs burning if they all cram in there and light up. Even smokers suffer when the blue clouds get too dense.

Plus they'll stink like they've spent a night in a bar and have to explain it to their spouses.

2. ROFL - now there is a classic line
"that's their business," - Yeah, until someone else tells em it's not and stretches things to a point where it is everyone else's business (like, smoking at home affects my health care costs, so it is now my business - how far can all this go? To the point that we are living for the state and everyone else. Seems like an episode from the Twilight zone.)

Nothing is MY business anymore in this society, everyone has it made it theirs.

And we were worried about the catholic church being in our bedrooms and business, seems like the real problem is everyone else and the government took over that job.

And so many have enabled them, even people on the left.

4. Whats next "Tobacco rations for women"The anti-tobacco campaign of the Nazis:
a little known aspect of public health in Germany, 1933-45
Robert N Proctor, professor of the history of science a
a Department of History, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA 16802, United States

Historians and epidemiologists have only recently begun to explore the Nazi anti-tobacco movement. Germany had the world's strongest antismoking movement in the 1930s and early 1940s, encompassing bans on smoking in public spaces, bans on advertising, restrictions on tobacco rations for women, and the world's most refined tobacco epidemiology, linking tobacco use with the already evident epidemic of lung cancer. The anti-tobacco campaign must be understood against the backdrop of the Nazi quest for racial and bodily purity, which also motivated many other public health efforts of the era.
