El Golpe Se enciende

While most of us are mesmerized by this year's presidential primaries - certainly those of the Democrats, now that the "liberals" have been eliminated; the awesome, historic, holy-god-would-you-believe-it contest between (gasp!) a black man and a white woman - other stuff is happening. Really. For instance, the slaughter of Palestinian civilians continues apace as women, children and babies are butchered to secure "Greater Israel." And, right here in our own hemisphere, the US Southern Command is flexing its muscles by organizing a nasty, brutish attack by the Columbian military carried out inside Ecuador.

Oh-oh.

According to a press release from the Council on Hemispheric Affairs, ". . . on Saturday, the Colombian air force attacked a FARC (the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia, a resistance organization battling the right-wing government for 40 years) camp site inside Ecuador, a mile from the Colombian border, resulting in the death of Raul Reyes (Luis Edgar Devia Silva), the second in command of the FARC, and seventeen other members of his unit. Both Ecuador and Venezuela reacted with outrage, with Ecuador immediately recalling its ambassador (Venezuela previously had done so) and ordering their troops to their respective borders with Colombia in response to the air strike and subsequent incursion by Colombian helicopters ordered by President Alvaro Uribe into Ecuador."

Here's the take home message for us Norteamericanos: "What is particularly worrisome about this entire scenario is the strong possibility of U.S. involvement in the incident and what role, if any, Southcom (the US Southern Command) had in planning, supplying and carrying out the operation. There are good grounds to speculate that the entire game plan seems to have been carried out at too sophisticated a level by a Colombian military which normally is dismissed as incompetent, corrupt, drug sodden and ill-deposed to risk dangers."

And for the doubting Thomases who just can't accept the idea that the US is - and has been for a very long time, especially in Latin America - the numero uno exporter of global terrorism, the press release adds, "While there is no evidence to buttress such surmises, the U.S. role could have involved the supply of intelligence based on satellites and heat sensors, a supply of smart bombs and the seconding of some of the scores of U.S. trainers in the country to cooperate in carrying out the initiative. In addition, there could have been possible authorization of the use of Black Hawk helicopters provided under the auspices of Plan Colombia, the multi billion dollar U.S. military aid program which transformed Colombia into being the third largest recipient of such U.S. assistance in the world."

And for those who are ignorant of Plan Columbia, suffice it to say it was planned, organized, and initiated under the direction of that warmongering president who never met a liberal he could actually tolerate. No, not George W. Bush; Bill Clinton.

Oh, my.

So, the chance of a major international war in South America is now a clear possibility thanks, once again, to a US foreign policy for Latin America that is, was, and always shall be corrupt, murderous, and pro-dictator. And, um, don't forget the oil in Venezuela (and probably offshore Ecuador and Columbia). Oil. Our oil. Once again - isn't it odd? - trapped beneath the surface of some other sovereign nation.

So, how soon before it is determined that al Quaeda has opened franchises all over these three countries?

for Obama, exit polls went for Hillary by a smaller margin. WE'll have to wait and see. We have a big shitload of voters down here, like 12 mil for all parties. Expecting 3.5 mil votes per another DUer.

and we needed to keep the evening "normal" which is abnormal with an older autistic child. I really wanted to go. Hubby goes to bed early, too, and some of these caucuses can run wild and late.

41. I'm glad that you and Crook and doing good. There was no damage
to either vehicle to speak of and no one was hurt. I heard him ask her, "Ma'am, are you okay?" and she was yelling at him. He said she slammed her brakes on to keep from hitting the car in front of her, and the ABS system on our car didn't kick in (the speedometer registered below 10 mph) and he slid into her.

I think he's freaked out that she was swearing and acting like a total ass.

She was yelling at him - 'what do you people down here have to do to get a license?'...'I hate this state' and on and on. He was freaking out because he'd already asked her if she was okay before he called me. I asked him if he and his brothers were okay and I asked about her and I told him to ask her again if she was okay and I heard her yelling at him, "I've already told you once that I'm fine, like it matters." Charlie, "ma'am it matters to me and my mom wants to ensure that you're not hurt." Hell I could hear her yelling at him.

I may have to partake in my b'day present to try to figure out this behavior, lol! Hope that all is well with you. :hi:

62. I'm sad for you too, alyce.
But you voted your conscience. Why does voting have to be such a stressful, negative experience?

(More wine, please. Thank you.)

Felt one way and then another the whole time.

Hillary had picked up a slight majority here in texas voting, but it is back to dead even again at 49-49.

On edit: Sec of State results have HRC with a slight majority: 50.6% to 47.3%.

74. Me too. Hill has run a horrible campaign.
If this is an indication of her management capabilities, I'm not impressed.

Another experience letter supporting Clinton...

...

You know what, I turned off Stephanie Miller today for the first time in a while. I may just turn off the radio the rest of the week and just chill out to something relaxing like Nine Inch Nails...

At least Mike's been rational through the whole thing.
