Madd Dog George has "fixed" things beyond repair I'm afraid. Our money will soon be about equal to post Civil War Confederate cash. One wheelbarrow full of cash for a gallon of milk. If the democrats can't win at a time like this we will never win again. Where's our old "It's The Economy Stupid" signs? Maybe we need to reword them to say, "It's STUPID's Economy"?

J D "Jed" Clampett would be declared a hillbillyoterrorist today and Bush/Exxon would have him bombed, blasted and hanged until he signed all his oil and land over the them.

1. BTW...
Don't forget to thank every republican within hearing distance, out loud, every time you stop in to get your $3.50.9 and rising gallon of Bush/Exxon.

I don't know if it's all beyond repair but I'm hoping that when
we win the WH and we will, that we can turn this around asap!

4.  Oil prices surpass $109 a barrel
VIENNA, Austria - Oil prices briefly are surging above $109 a barrel for the first time.

The rise comes as International Energy Agency is warning that there is unlikely to be much relief from current high oil prices because of brisk demand in China and other emerging markets.

Light, sweet crude for April delivery briefly climbed to $109.20 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by midday Tuesday in Europe.

The contract later fell back to $108.75 but that is still 54 cents above the previous high set on Monday.

6. The oil companies are not paying that much, not by a long shot
Do you realize who benefits most from the runup in the spot market price (do not ever confuse that price you see on the TV every day with what the major oil complaines pay for the crude they pump)? It is the independent producers, mostly in Oklahoma. Think about it - all those thousands of little stripper wells that have been producing 5 barrles a day for 20 years. On average it costs about $17 per barrel to lift the oil out of those wells, its nice to be able to sell it for over $100.

7. Uh, there's the little matter of our petroleum addiction, too.
I'll fault our leaders for not leading us away from oil, but if we didn't waste so much, there wouldn't be a crisis yet.
