Special Press Briefing and Release of 2007 Annual Report on Human Rights

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will deliver opening remarks on the release of the State Department’s 2007 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices on Tuesday, March 11, at 1:00 p.m. The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor will follow the Secretary’s remarks, and Acting Assistant Secretary Jonathan Farrar will respond to reporters’ questions. This event is on camera and on the record, and will be held in the State Department’s press briefing room (Room 2209).

Past years under Bush

Every year the U.S. State Department issues its annual report on the state of human rights around the world.The report addresses the various human rights abuses in each country.

These reports do not include the actions of the United States.
