In Case You're Awake & Wondering - Markets Tanking In Asia Now
Nikkei is down 3.7%, and Hang Seng was down 3.0%. That's equivalent to about 350-400 Points on the Dow. Dow Futures right now are currently showing -1%, or approx. 120 points.

They're going to try and mount a resistence in Europe, which is starting to open next.

2. I just took a quick look, and that market situation in Asia may be local.
Concerns of inflation due to oil prices, nothing new here.

Snow in China affecting industrial output, shouldn't affect our market directly. Especially if we're not buying as much.

So, everything might be fine. Then again, the market might freak out that Paulsen will be talking about new regulations that might be coming along.

4. Increased violence in Iraq...
Surging oil prices. Little interest in Feds rate cut. Lots of issues. 7 pages of foreclosures in my local paper today. Only half a page as of last week. The proverbial shit is about to hit!

7. The European media yesterday could not understand
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 02:02 AM by 48percenter
why the stupid DOW went up 416, have the fundamentals changed? Are we suddenly out of the recession, has the backlog of housing evened out?

I don't think so. The stock market is a giant fucking casino, and we're all being played.
