Another Video Beating - This Time a Teacher
A teacher, Jolita Berry was beaten by a student while another student video taped the incident and later posted it to MySpace. When the teacher went to the principle about the incident, the principle blamed the teacher - WTH.

See the video here.

1. No matter what the ignorant principal said, the teacher can file
assault charges against the students. Even ignorant kids don't have the right to beat up people.

3. Absolutely she should file criminal charges--
Talk about an open and shut case!

4. OK, but I have two friends, both teachers, who were assaulted by students in separate schools. They
filed assault chargers however the administration and other students testified against them.

One was ready to testify but before entering the court room, the district attorney accompanied by a deputy sheriff with handcuffs in hand, threatened to arrest the teacher if he testified.

Of course he choose freedom rather than jail for a cause he would definitely lose in that particular county.

The other teacher encountered so much opposition from school administrators and zero support from the teachers association (union) that she simply gave up teaching.

I would not be surprised if many such stories exist.

1. the violence itself
2. the videotaping of it
3. the broadcasting of the videotaping.

What's wrong with our kids that aren't even capable of anticipating the consequences of incriminating theselves?

5. The disturbing thing to me was the principal's response.
She should've called the police, and expelled the student. To do nothing at all is beyond the pale.

6. Sends a strong message by example. Beat up your teachers. It's okay with us.
Next time, maybe 5 or 6 of you go after one.

7. I'm disgusted by those students.

And people wonder why police use tasers on disruptive teens or teachers want to carry weapons for self-defense.
