Lawmakers Fighting Makers of Violent Internet Videos
The disturbing video showing of a group of Florida teenagers beating a 16-year-old girl has been all over the internet over the past couple of months.
The group in the footage allegedly planned to record the March 30th attack so they could post it on MySpace and YouTube for others to watch.
Internet footage of so-called "bum fights" have gained notoriety over the past several years.
The video's creators bribe homeless people with cash or alcohol to incite homeless people to fight, pull out their teeth, light themselves on fire, and do other disturbing things.
"The people in these videos, they make me sick," says State Senator John Flanagan of Long Island. "Their behavior is repugnant. It's reprehensible. It should be the vast departure from the norm of society and, frankly, we have an obligation to act."
