McCain, trying to be a regular guy, buys fishing equipment for his own lake on his 10 acre estate
http://www.americablog.com/2008/05/when-you-fish-in-your-private.html

Yesterday, McCain made a big deal out of stopping at a gun shop in West Virginia to show that he's just a regular guy -- a man of the people. He even bought some fishing gear. But, his press secretary exposed the reality that McCain is really a very wealthy elitist:

After the stop at the gun shop, Mr. McCain’s traveling press secretary, Brooke Buchanan, said that Mr. McCain would use his new fishing rod on the artificial lake at his 10-acre Arizona spread in Sedona.

Real people who fish don't have private artificial lakes on their 10-acre estates. Real people don't have lakes built for them on their estates. That's left to the elites and the modern day aristocrats. But guess who else has built their own lake to go fishing? John McCain's bff George Bush:

He also provided a thorough tour, with voluminous commentary, of the sprawling but unoccupied new dream house that he and his wife, Laura, have built beside an artificial lake, which was dug, at Mr. Bush's request, so that he could troll for bass just yards from the patio.

(end snip)

bff George Bush. That's one way of saying it.

1. Stories like this are plain stupid! EVERYBODY who ever gets to
be a Presidential candidate in recent years is RICH! I don't care if the guy has a 10 acre soread in AZ. anymore than I cared if Edwards spent $300 on a harcut and also has a big house. Actually, it's better if those folks have a lot on money! They won't be so tempted to take bribes for favors.

4. I'm sure no McNut fan, but buying fishing equipment isn't any different
than Barack having breakfast in a diner with "the regular folk", or Hillary having a shot & a beer at the local bar in Pa. They're ALL trying to blend in with the "regular people".

5. Actually, it is at least a little different.
Obama and Hillary are at least TALKING to "the regular folk" while they're eating or drinking.

6. John McCain rolling Dice at a Casino in Nevada.

Mac Daddy McCain rolling dice in Las Vegas

Who would have figured it...Mac Daddy McCain likes to throw the bones (from a May, 2005 profile of John McCain in The New Yorker by Connie Bruck):

McCain is an avid gambler. Wes Gullett, a close friend who worked for McCain for years, told me that they used to play craps in Las Vegas in fourteen-hour stints, standing at the tables from 10 a.m. to midnight. “Craps is addictive,” McCain remarked, and he headed for the fifteen-dollar-minimum-bet tables.

Fifteen dollars might not seem like a lot, but most serious players place odds bets and take advantage of other wagering opportunities, easily placing hundreds of dollars on the table per roll.

Here's a camera phone picture of John McCain (or someone who looks exactly like him) throwing dice in Las Vegas. Even though the site I found it on says it was taken at Mirage, I'm pretty sure McCain is actually at Bellagio in the dice pit closest to the main tower elevators. (I think that's the Fontana Lounge in the upper right hand corner of the picture, and it is apparently daytime.)

This one could be fun to play with metaphorically
