This quiz/ad campaign is a little creepy.

At least they actually talk about contraception. Still, I have some issues with this.

It's hugely heterocentric, for one thing. Yes, I know it's about preventing pregnancy; but you can still get STD's from unprotected gay sex.

Also, I'm really not a fan of the "Sex should be saved for someone you REALLY love and/or marriage" thing. I think sex is for when you're ready and you can protect yourself - not just long-term relationships. According to this quiz, I'm only "sort of a sexpert" because I don't believe that sex should only take place in long-term relationships.

What are your thoughts?

1. They're trying to keep daddy's little girl pure.
That's the reason for saving it up for the real thing.

The truth is that sex drive varies widely among both sexes, although the consequences are far worse for straight girls in terms of pregnancy, loss of reputation and stigmatizing, and some STDs.

Some will get into one nighters. Some will be virgins until they marry. Most will be somewhere in between, with a few "serious" partners until they settle down. Sites like this might get a few of them to protect themselves and that's a good thing.

You're right that it needs to be redesigned with an option for gay teens.

(the answer I liked the most was about not giving it up in the back seat of his dad's Prius. I've used a variation on that because the last thing an overheated teenaged male ever wants to think about is somebody's father)

3. Personally I agree with you.
I think that kind of canard is used as boilerplate to make talk of teen (or any other sex) 'socially acceptable'.

I cannot help but notice your name. I am on the spectrum and my 17-year-old son is an aspie as well. I suspect, that there is a tendancy to see thru hypocritical *PC* posturing because it dosen't compute with personal experience and/or reality.

I wish you well, and a liberated, positive life, sexual and otherwise.

5. I find myself wanting to mess with quizzes like this
My problem with it is that this quiz assumes you have other people's (the hypothetical people you're responding to) best interests in mind, and that you want to give them good advice.

Where is the sex quiz for sociopaths?
