Are Chinese manufacturers trying to kill us?
Sure seems that way sometimes... :eyes:

Circuit breakers designed to protect you and your home may be counterfeit, the federal government said on Tuesday.

The concern is the knock-off circuit breakers could pose a serious fire hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission told 12 News there is "a rash of the bogus breakers flooding the market."

3. No more than they're trying to kill anyone else, including themselves.
Let's just say consumer protection law in China is a little less evolved than it is in the West (hard to believe, I know). So companies just manufacture the cheapest possible goods they can get away with. Since circuit breakers basically seem to do nothing most of the time, it's pretty easy to make ones that do nothing all of the time.

If the Chinese are guilty of anything, it's taking capitalism to its logical extreme.

8. They're trying to get rich quick
before anybody notices what corners they're cutting. With no agencies in China doing spot checks, they generally manage to do substandard crap for a very long time before people get hurt and somebody notices.

They're also working their people to death, making them work double shifts seven days a week, and often cheat them on pay.

They're also cutting China's throat in the long run, meaning the Chinese government has to do more than use the DP against the ones they catch.

12. Check out this article
particle board used in construction is coming from China - more every year.
They have found dangerously high levels of formaldehyde - as in that used in Katrina trailers.

Boeing also got parts with some of the insides missing.

It is the US corporations that are failing us though. Rather than return their manufacturing to the US, Boeing is continuing to have parts made in China. This is why their Dreamliner is years behind schedule.
