Regarding Scotty's motivations
Some people are wondering why Scott came out now with his book, and I've thought a little about that, with the following conclusion.

He didn't want to die. That's it: plain and simple.

If he had let anything slip from his tell-all book, how much longer would he have been allowed to live by the administration and friends? He accidentally gets run over or suicided, or some other neat murder, and the publisher gets whacked as well. It won't be the first time someone who has many secrets is killed, and everything swept under the proverbial rug.

He had to wait to make sure it all hit the presses, and landed on shelves everywhere before he could talk about it.

Now, the administration can try to discredit him, try as they might, there are going to be still a lot of people who are going to know it's all true.

I would say that he is still trying to cover his own ass, but at least now if he is "accidentally" killed, there is no doubt where the finger will be pointing at that time.

1. Or,
his remorse for having written the book will suddenly overtake him, and he'll hang himself or jump off a high building.

Ever notice how many of those "suicides" there have been among people even peripherally linked to this so-called "administration"?

2. Nah, just wants to sell a book. It sheds no new light on things--they did it all out in the open,
all the lying and stuff. We all knew it, all saw it. he's not revealing anything at all.

4. We knew about it, but there are a lot of people who believe the media
double speak on it

This book is released to make money, and to hurt mccain and the bush administration the most, just before an election

A lot of people in this country still believe the lies. When Congress brings him before them to testify UNDER OATH, this WILL HAVE A MAJOR EFFECT

You won't have him calling refusing to testify either, or taking the fifth, or saying he can't testify because of executive privilege

3. He is releasing it now because it could hurt them the most, and especially mccain
who is an extension of bush

If he had walked out at the time, the administration and the media they control, would have just labelled him as not a team player, as they are doing now, but the story would have also been forgotten

We have an election, with mccain who is an extension of the bush administration, this story cannot be so easily brushed aside, and it is free game for the Democrats to exploit, which is extremely beneficial just before an election

5. I think Scott just wanted to get it off his chest.
He is not too bright and was duped. The Republicans took advantage of his ignorance just like they have taken advantage of Bush's ignorance. Even a smart person does not like to be screwed by his so called friends.

7. If you heard him on Olbermann last night,
you can tell he is both bright and articulate.

His stuttering performance as Press Secretary must have been because he was only supposed to say what they told him.

8. The No Asshole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn't
http://www.amazon.com/Asshole-Rule-Civilized-Workplace-Surviving/dp/0446526568/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212172049&sr=1-1

"This meticulously researched book, which grew from a much buzzed-about article in the Harvard Business Review, puts into plain language an undeniable fact: the modern workplace is beset with assholes. Sutton (Weird Ideas that Work), a professor of management science at Stanford University, argues that assholes—those who deliberately make co-workers feel bad about themselves and who focus their aggression on the less powerful—poison the work environment, decrease productivity, induce qualified employees to quit and therefore are detrimental to businesses, regardless of their individual effectiveness. He also makes the solution plain: they have to go. Direct and punchy, Sutton uses accessible language and a bevy of examples to make his case, providing tests to determine if you are an asshole (and if so, advice for how to self-correct), a how-to guide to surviving environments where assholes freely roam and a carefully calibrated measure, the "Total Cost of Assholes," by which corporations can assess the damage. Although occasionally campy and glib, Sutton's work is sure to generate discussions at watercoolers around the country and deserves influence in corporate hiring and firing strategies."

I'm only fifty pages into this book and it's great. Sure could explain why Scott is speaking out.
