"Pulpiteer"

the man who introduced the catholic priest called him one of the best 'pulpiteers'.

I've never heard that word before.

are pulpiteers paid? does the catholic chuch have many pulpiteers? do other religions have pulpiteers too?

is this a new religious thing or just a new name for an old religious thing?

6. Anything like a privateer?
Yar?

OTH, I was raised Catholic and never heard that word used, ever. But this was in an all-white Catholic church where the sermons (or homilies, as we called them) were generally dull as dish water. So maybe there were pulpiteers out there, but we just never had one. lol

7. This is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill Catholic priest.
He is of the same status as Father Coughlin, using the pulpit to politicize.

9. No argument
The OP just asked if there were a lot of "pulpiteers" in the Church, and I was saying I never encountered any. Doesn't mean they don't exist, obviously. :)
