I'll stop calling him "Scotty" when he stops having "affection" for Shrub
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 10:40 AM by UTUSN
After the first blush of satisfaction about his critique of the whole Shrub operation, I settled into a WARY support of him. Almost all of us here already knew almost everything negative he says about Shrub. The only new thing is who is saying it.

But he is not at the BROCK level of self discovery. Interspersed throughout his truths continue to be his protestations of "affection" for Shrub, denials that Shrub is actually devious, and his attributing noble, idealistic motives to Shrub.

He continues to claim that Shrub was a bipartisan wonder down in Texas, when the whole Shrub scam was spelled out by Molly IVINS back when. Texas is a WEAK GOVERNOR state, and the so-called Democrats that Shrub supposedly worked with were Southern Conservative Democrats. All Shrub did in Texas was to get big money deals for cronies and twist regulations to favor his fatcats.

Shrub is SCUM. Until Scotty acknowledges THAT, I will WARILY support him, just for the discomfort most of his book is causing the Shrubbites.

As for Scotty's supposed family political idealism: All his mommy and idiot Kinky FRIEDMAN accomplished with their runs as Independents was to ensure that Governor Goodhair won reelection with a measly 30% or some such of the vote.

Scotty claims to want to unify everybody and transform politics. I've been hearing that CRAP since '72, and it rings even more hollow coming from him because, as close up as he could see Shrub, he could not see Shrub's pre-repentant ATWATER soul and KKKarl's soul mate inside.

If Scotty comes to say, "Shrub is SCUM," then I'll respect him more and call him "Scott" or some other more dignified appellation.

1. Great post. Alot of folks outside of Texas
don't know the details of his* governorship here. They don't know about "funeralgate" and the fraud of the so-called Texas miracle in education. They also don't know how weak the governor's position is here. Shrub/Rove took credit for work Bob Bullock accomplished.

If they want to "transform politics", then they need to muzzle their mouthpieces like Limbog by telling their listeners that Rush is a liar and plays the hate card. Instead, Cheney does an interview with OxyRush whenever the GOP talking points get out of whack. Scotty hasn't mentioned that the divisiveness is part of the RW talk show programming and propaganda machine that * chooses to be a part of.

When Simple Scotty appropriately places the blame for the war, poor economy, etc with W*, then he'll have my full respect. Until then, I appreciate what he has said, but he has only come halfway. He has alot of growing up to do.
