As you know Obama said yesterday and Howard Dean affirmed today the DNC is taking no more money from PACs or lobbyists.

The Presidential nominee historical becomes the de facto head of their party. That is part of the consideration of voting for and nominating someone-clearly some party insiders are fine with that head being Obama.

What about McHundred? Are they even going to pretend to let him be their Big Kahuna? I mean all they have to do is give him something to read in front of the cameras-clearly he will read any of their prescribed talking points no matter the present circumstances.

Watch for that. I sense that they are going to retain power with the RNC head and the Rovian disciples.

1. They are all about the money
So until mclame brings in the bucks he will continue to be ignored. Pretty pathetic that he has to run fundraisers with Shrub still while hiding from pictures with him.

2. This is a good point. I think he needs Romney: but they may be afraid that McCain would be
overshadowed with that setup.

3. To be honest the whole thing is pathetic
and by that I mean that I don't think the McHundred is that terrible a person. I disagree with a lot of his opinions and on issues but I don't see where he is vile like Cheney Rove and their puppet Bush. The worst part is seeing someone stand up in public and completely whore himself out reading ridiculous talking points and end up totally slimed at the end-win or not. McCain is about to get ripped apart in public and we all have to sit and watch. Sad really.

7. I disagree- he is an enabler
I might have agreed with you had he not supported continuing waterboarding and other forms of torture. When he sided with Bushco on that, I lost all respect for the man. He has no Honor left.

5. I doubt it.
Quick question: Who was the head of the Democratic Party in 2005?

Kerry?

When did Obama replace Kerry? When he--and the media--decided that he had enough pledged delegates and enough firm commitments from unpledged delegates to confidently predict he'll win the official vote declaring him the party's nominee? Is there some party bylaw or charter paragraph that could help me understand the process?

If Kerry wasn't the head of the Democratic Party in 2005, he probably wasn't the head of the Democratic Party in the summer of 2004 in any meaningful sense. He was the presumptive nominee; after the convention, he was the official nominee. After Nov. 2004, he was a Senator.
