A Real Enemies' List
Since I lived thru the 50's, I well remember the fake enemy lists (and the blacklists) used by the right back then. They were odious.

But today, after reading the words of Richard Clarke about letting war criminals back into "polite society," I started thinking. No one in power will ever punish these people: sad, but true. But what power do WE have to affect THEIR futures? Quite a bit actually.

There are millions of us - my God, we chose between a woman and an African American, as presidential nominees! We changed history - and will again in November.

In our millions, we have children, economic power, and access to different kinds of power in different ways. Let's list the war criminals, and punish them the only way we can - a type of boycott.

Ms. Rice may be headed back to Stanford. Kinda like Ribbentrop (Nazi foreign minister) heading to a prestigious German U after WW2. Let's not stand for it! Let's tell kids thinking of attending a Condi-infested campus to look AND TRANSFER elsewhere. Write letters: WHY DOES STANFORD SUPPORT WAR CRIMINALS?. Ads, demonstrations. The very least obtained? The public is kept aware of her criminal behavior, instead of her sliming her way back into faculty teas, unnoticed.

The same can apply to sponsors of TV shows, who place one of these crooks on a board: write! Turn off the TV. Again, the worst that can happen is that the public is made aware that General Electric employees murdering thugs.

And now we have a blogosphere to help drive this.

I think of the scene from BLAZING SADDLES - "Gentlemen, we've got to keep our phony baloney jobs!"
Well, we can take them away from people on the real enemies list.

Got some nominees?

1. I was actually just thinking about this... These people will be shunned...
by many countries around the world and could very well be charged if they attempt to enter some countries once they leave office. If the powers that be (coming in Jan 09) won't do the job, there may be others out there that will.
