POS Bush claimed to have done all he could in terms of diplomacy before illegally bombing and conquering the defenseless nation of Iraq.

But what diplomacy was there? Did POS Bush speak on the phone with Saddam Hussein? Did US diplomats meet with Iraqi diplomats? Why is there no record of such meetings to be found?

The only "Diplomacy" I can find any reference to is POS Bush's months-long campaign to try to convince other nations to join his little "coalition of the willing".

I wonder if anyone here knows of any actual diplomacy that took place between the US and Iraq in the year before POS Bush illegally invaded?

I do remember that POS Bush demanded that Hussein give a full accounting of his weapons programs. Hussein presented a bunch of tables full of thousands of pages of documents, which the Bush administration denounced as lies within only a few hours. (How did they read it all so quick?)

Iraq's Declaration on Weapons of Mass Destruction

Event Summary
On December 7, Iraq presented its declaration of weapons of mass destruction capabilities to the United Nations. The United States and other permanent members of the Security Council have also received copies of the nearly 12,000-page document, which should detail every element of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. Meanwhile, UN weapons inspectors have been on the ground in Iraq since November 25 and Iraq has generally cooperated with their efforts.

Iraq hands over arms declaration
U.S. is skeptical of documents' veracity

Sunday, December 8, 2002

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Iraq delivered its declaration on weapons of mass destruction to U.N. inspectors in Baghdad Saturday, one day ahead of a U.N. deadline.
....

U.S. intelligence officials expressed deep skepticism about the Iraqi weapons declaration, saying the United States has its own "clear evidence" that Iraq has an extensive weapons program.

U.S. officials say they do not expect to see that program honestly and completely described in the nearly 12,000 pages plus CD-ROMs from Iraq.

Did anyone EVER hear about those pages or CDs EVER AGAIN? Did we not hear about them because they were 100% true?

:banghead:

THE PRESIDENT: Well, we're still in the final stages of diplomacy. I'm spending a lot of time on the phone, talking to fellow leaders about the need for the United Nations Security Council to state the facts, which is Saddam Hussein hasn't disarmed. Fourteen forty-one, the Security Council resolution passed unanimously last fall, said clearly that Saddam Hussein has one last chance to disarm. He hasn't disarmed. And so we're working with Security Council members to resolve this issue at the Security Council.

2. Now be fair. Bush said he did all HE could. Since he's a total incompetent, what could we have
expected?

3. Yeah, silly us. IIRC, diplomacy wasn't tried--wasn't this around the time
that Rice was saying Bushco "doesn't do nuance"?

4. Most of the pre war diplomacy was
done using F-22 & F-18's.

5. The only direct diplomacy I remember
If it could even be called diplomacy, was to "offer" Sadam 72 hours to step down prior to the military strikes...kinda like a "Countdown to Extiction"
