Yeah me too. Don't you just hate it when you go into space. You step out for a cigarette. When you get back you find out they have left without you. You would think they would do a head count before they left.

4. "safe and sound" being the rest of that sentence, lol.
Hey, they were wrestling space station toilets and had bits of the shuttle breaking off, so you never know!

3. So, THAT'S what that was!
BOOM!
It moved the blinds (that I had closed) in my living-room that opens up to the patio.
It was like a compression thing - it seemed to rattle the sliding door.
I ran outside but I didn't see anything - I thought it was thunder but it's sunny out.

I'm new to these parts...I'm in Maitland.

And being from Kansas City big booms concern me - that usually means something bad is coming and soon.

6. Yeah, it can scare the hell out of you if you aren't expecting it

I thought that there had been some awful catastrophe somewhere the first time I heard it (i'm originally from Ohio). Of course I checked the news and felt a little foolish when I realized those were sonic booms.

It rattled the windows in my old downtown bungalow pretty loudly, so yeah, I suspect that your door was shaking a bit too.

8. Yeah - I'm feeling a bit foolish right now - so I guess I still have a lot to learn.
By the way - I bet you have your hands full with those kitties (who are so cute - especially the kitty in the middle).

They all have that LOOK... here comes some furry trouble!

14. Your right about Puck-she IS furry trouble!
http://www.catster.com/cats/100222 My new guy Pip is just as bad-if not worse. But as I always say about Turkish Angoras; they're born to be naughty! (Better than being boring, though ;-) )

:hi:

11. My folks lived 14 miles south of the Cape
My mother said the first boom shifted all the paintings on the wall. The second boom straightened them back up.

Once you hear those booms in central Florida, you pretty much know they're back OK.

10. What's Really Funny (Kinda Worrisome)
I live in Central Florida and know some one who used to work for a home security company, you know the ones that have the alarms and monitor them. Well, a lot of times when the shuttle lands it sets off the window break sensors. The guys doing the monitoring would get a bunch of alarms at the same time and just hit the button to clear them all.

Yes, and it has scared my cats too.
It scared me too one time because I was driving my mother's car - I'm already a nervous driver and when I heard the boom I nearly panicked. It took me a moment to realize I hadn't gotten into an accident.

16. Yikes! I've never been driving when it came in
but I can see how that might scare the bajeezus out of a person.

Didn't think about the home alarms either, though I have heard it set off a few car alarms.
