Tim Russert had one commendable moment in his recent journalistic career.
When one of Colin Powell's lackeys attempted to move the camera off the "good" General in response to a pointed question, Russert kind of, sort of called them out and said something to the effect of "I think that this is highly inappropriate."

Other than that he was a sycophantic Bushite who sold this country and the rest of the world straight to hell for his thirty pieces of silver.

Yol Bolsun, Timmeh.

4. His "meets" with Cheney made me ill. I never watched his show. Used
to enjoy him on Imus and other shows but never on his own...

5. Two.
In 2006 he had the South Carolina candidates for Senator on his show - Inez Tennebaum (then our Democratic Superintendent of Education) vs. the current senator who is so apeshit crazy that even Lindsey Graham ignores him. On that show Russert treated the Repub in the fashion he usually reserved for our guys. He grilled him mercilessly, played 'gotcha' and generally made DeMint look like the babbling fool he is on such subjects as abortion with NO exceptions, and doing away with the IRS in favor of a 30 percent sales tax. He shook his head and smirked at De Mint's stupid answers whenever deserved.

He ripped De Mint a new one, and anyone watching that show couldn't miss it. Inez, on the other hand, he treated with the respect he usually reserved for Republicans.

I never did quite figure that out. I never saw him charge like that at any other Republican he interviewed.
