In the end, did Russert play Cheney and co.?
It's been pretty obvious to all that Russert is a Bush admin. favorite when it comes to getting out their message. Anyone feel that Russert was more than happy to defend Cheney and co. but got cold feet in the end and turned on them?

2. it was his fat ass, or theirs. simple choice for that loathsome prick.
have you seen ANY evidence of outrage on his part at the number of times he's been lied to by Cheney, Scooter, etal?

if I were in his gigantic, EEEEE loafers, I'd be PISSED that my 'journalistic' credibility had been punctured more times than the go-to girl at the Mustang Ranch!

but has he shown any signs of said outrage? hell, no. back to kissing RW ass, like Lindsey Graham's, as per usual.

3. But they are all weasels. Russert wanted to save his ass.
His personal well being is more important than protecting Bush. Libby was a fool to put himself out like this.

4. and another thing: neither side are playing each other. they're both using
one another to further their own goals, which are one and the same:

amassing and maintaining as much power as possible
