Olbermann Interview on Libby Conviction - JOHN DEAN: "Shows 'They Had A Lot To Hide'"
Edited on Tue Mar-06-07 09:09 PM by Hissyspit
Partial transcribing attempt.

DEAN: "Sad day, unfortunate day. I should have called my book 'Much Much Worse Than Watergate'."

KO: "Is this self-contained conviction, fatal break in the dyke, or somewhere in the middle?"

DEAN: "If congress jumps in that could change the dynamic..." (of investigation of outing).

KO: The transcripts of FBI, how valuable, how suicidal if WH lets them get out?

DEAN: "I would think Wilson could get those in his civil suit."

DEAN: "I thought of all the people who did lie during Watergate, Haldeman, Erlichman - it was all foolish. It doesn't work."

KO: "Even if we don't learn anymore than we did today, what does this say about selling of war?"

DEAN: "We certainly know there is no degree they will not go if they feel threatened. Wilson's op/ed was just that an op/ed." Their response shows "They had a lot to hide." "Will dissemble if necessary." "...symbolic of how they tried to sell the war."

2. I always love listening to Dean. He is a very intelligent man, and
knows from past experience what it really looks like is going on.

I loved it when he said I probably misnamed my book "Worse than Watergate", it should have been MUCH WORSE than Watergate!
