Watching Charlie Rose - James Baker and Warren Christopher. Very telling -
You got your big mouthed, aggressive, person on the right - Baker - jumps in and answers all of the questions shrilly, and first. You got your person on the left - Christopher - being deferential, calmer, trying to use reason and intellect rather than volume and bullying.

To me, this crystallizes a big generality of the political dialogue over the past 8 years - the right wing noise machine, using aggressiveness, sound bites, bullying....and the left thinking that people will be reasonable, fight through the noise, and use their brains.

Lots of good that approach has done for us....what an incredible blow hard Baker is!

4. You are wrong. Baker wants the power of the prez, that * had, to
take it away. He wants the prez to consider whatever he wants, and the House and Senate to vote on it.
It gives Congress a viable to STOP a war between exec. and legislative branch.
Baker was kinda frantic; it hasn't worked.

6. I heard this report on the radio today.
I'm not sure what it is all about but I thought for sure there would be a discussion on the DU. This thread is all I could find.

From what I got from the brief news blip, Baker and Christopher did a study and came to the conclusion that the process to declare war (war powers act? from '74) is a piece of crap and needs to be changed to ensure Congress has the final word. This made me think of Iran and Hail to the Chimp and what he might do before our nightmare is over.
The fact that you said Baker was frantic really worries me.
Is there another thread on this somewhere?
This seems just as important as FISA, even more urgent.
