I Had A Really Scary And Dangerous Moment Today When A Huge Chunk Of Something Landed On My Car.
Scared the crap out of me. I had no idea what the fuck it was or where it came from at first, but it totally jumped me out of my skin as I was drivin. But after I looked at it for a bit I thought I had a hunch as to what it was.

First thing I did when I got home was log onto DU to see if my suspicions had merit. Took me all of 10 seconds in GD to confirm my theory. Yup. The sky was indeed falling.

27. "little award"? Pull up your pants, your ass is showing.
After you've hitched up your ride, sit down and STFU.

36. The Constitution essentially ceased to exist the day the Supreme Court installed Bush.
Today's vote, by comparison, was just a poor political calculation by the candidate, and an even worse one by the Party leadership.

Neither by bang nor whimper does this qualify as the end of the world.

Does it piss me off? Yep, mightily.

Is the OP funny, even if I disagree with it? Yep, I think it is.

I didn't mean to disparage what you're saying. I guess I passed the point long ago where laughing and crying are pretty indistinguishable. It all just sucks.

8. You know, I could say something really snide
And I mean HUGELY below the belt considering how much you just spit on the constitution, but I'll do better. I'll let you in on a little secret.

I ENJOY the idea of an America without laws, without protections, without the illusion of justice and the betterment of the world.

Today was a great step in that direction.

Welcome to the new reality.

The only thing the OP has to do is open his mouth, and the striking examples of his complete and utter irrelevance will flow forth freely like water breaking from a Dam.

He cares little to naught about that which you posted, nor anything that truly matters.

He exists mostly to incite reaction, or call attention to himself with what could only be described as embarrassing attempts at cleverness and wit.

The best option is to Ignore, and not waste your time.

26. Malcolm X put it well:
"I want Dr. King to know that I didn't come to Selma to make his job difficult. I really did come thinking I could make it easier. If the white people realize what the alternative is, perhaps they will be more willing to hear Dr. King."

22. No actually
I argue for rule of law so passionately because I well know what anarchy is like.

On the other hand, I am quite capable of dealing with a world where murder and theft are the order of the day. It's less complicated, and stupid people are rare- they die quickly.

Then I've done my job well.

The direction this nation is taking and the people who are claiming the dire necessity for those actions will take us places NONE of us should EVER want to go...but if we are hell bent on it, I'm not a pacifist or a moralist. I can easily adapt to such a world...but I wonder how many of the people cheering this on will be able to?

The worst thing the universe can do to you is to give you what you ask for.

Funny thread OMC. To everyone else..I'm kind of busy worrying about my own health (taking 2 chemotherapy drugs for a dangerous condition) to worry about stuff like this. Yeah it sucks. But it isn't gonna be something I'm gonna worry about when thetr are things like trying to get insurance for people whom, unlike me have no way to pay for health issues.
People need to get some perspective.
