PETA ad: My little girl's gonna "get some". (excellent work)
The MSM is all abuzz over a new PETA ad showing two parents encouraging their daughter to go out and have as much sex as possible.

It is, of course, alluding to the need for us all to spay or neuter our pets.

CNN & MSNBC are, of course, having great fun using it as a teaser: "Look at this shocking ad. More after the break."

It's working for PETA, plenty of press.

The short ad is on their homepage, check it out.

2. "It's working for PETA"
which ultimately means in this case, it should work for the spay/neuter campaign and help with pet overpopulation.

Good work PETA!

11. Yea, that's what I thought.
It is funny how well it's working, PETA has a rep that's been on different cable news shows, almost every hour.

MSM took the bait, swallowed whole.

3. is the girl purring like a female cat in heat?
my SO's mom has a cat that hits on me when she's "in the mood". Now the cat has been knocked up, so she leaves me alone.

13. Well, no, the daughter is in shock.
Your SO's mom's cat is knocked up?

Well, there's an indication of just what PETA is trying to prevent, doncha know....

5. It will be interesting to hear what O`Lielly and Limpballs have to say
I have $10 saying that they will be all in a huff about how the "liberal extremists" at PETA are encouraging promiscuity and pedophilia. :eyes:

8. First PETA ad I've ever liked.
Not bad.

Usually a PETA ad is more like one of those right wing religious ads, but that one was good.

10. Personally, I'd prefer a compassionate PETA member over any animal-abusing Texan anyday.
Edited on Thu Jul-17-08 11:31 AM by TooBigaTent
If we could just spay and neuter Texans, we would not have half the problems we do now.

16. That ad will resonate with people who think of unwanted cats and dogs being equal to unwanted babies

Otherwise it won't mean jack to other people.

18. What topic doesn't have a chance of turning toxic?
Edited on Thu Jul-17-08 12:11 PM by NYC_SKP
edit for sp.

I could start a "I love everyone here on DU" thread and some halfwit would chime in.

I love watching the way that, in a long enough thread, sooner or later someone brings Bill or Hillary Clinton into it. Or FISA, etc...

23. That was funny, I hadn't seen it before.
Looks like they kicked it up a notch this time around.

We are seeing a not so new trend in action, as with the New Yorker cover, be controversial, get your attention.
