My sister-in-laws anti-Obama opinion
Me: I wouldn't vote for a republican for dog-catcher.

SiL: Yeah, but Obama isn't much better. He'll favor the blacks.

Me: What does that mean?

SiL: You know like how MLK got them all riled up and arrogant...I think he's arrogant. I see it all the time in my job (i.e., legal secretary for a private law firm). They're arrogant (i.e., blacks)...

Me: Where are you getting this stuff, from Fox News?

SiL: No. My husband and I watch Mad Money with Jim Cramer and he's saying he's been flip-flopping on stuff like he wants his children in the spot-light, then he says he doesn't....

Me: What does that have to do with running the country?

SiL: Yeah well, I'm not voting. I'm staying home. They should just blow up the Middle East to get Bin Laden ...(said with a chuckle)...

Comfortable, white, conservatives forever victimized...
And this from, what SHE would claim herself to be, a devout catholic.

I don't understand how these "religious" hypocrites can't see the inconsistencies in their worldview vis-a-vis their so-called religious values....

Its a fucking joke.

I imagine she's arrogant, too?

Or would she ride in the back of the bus and drink from fountains labeled "bigots"?

18. My sympathies
It's one thing to be a Republican and have your viewpoint based on research and personal beliefs, it's a whole different thing to be a Republican and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I would have had to walk away and get a big fat drink.

19. there's no such thing as stupidity
Bertrand Russell once was famous for criticising the education of the young- he said the kids went in bright snd bold but came out like geese, all running around after the same thing, and dull as possible. Shortly after WW1, some rightwingnuts challenged Russell to propose some ways to improve the education of the young, but by then Bertrand Russell was pretty well fed up with the implacable ignorance of the men running the empire- even towards their own children etc, and he decided he would actually start a school which would instruct the kids regardless of class background etc, in what's needed to function in society, but using progressive techniques rather then the brute rote and memorising teaching which was used to crank out little workers. Once his school got going, Britain's upper class twits schemed together and sent all the worst cases among their own kids- this was before ritalin! After a couple years, Russell threw in the towel, and gave up (but note that it wasn't the working class kids that caused the problem, it was the offspring of the rich, the kids who end up drunkards or in prison etc) Russell also noted that none of the children were stupid, not even one, but their mental agility, he said, was frozen by fear, which they learned from their surroundings! All kids have the same mental agility, when they're little- no difference in childhood between a doctor or a dishwasher ...So as far as people like your SiL goes, we should try to encourage them to be afraid, to suffer endless terrors, and to sink as far as they can go!
rightwingers are the stupidest people on earth, and the smart ones are the stupidest
