"The lawyer representing the alleged madam of a prostitution ring that operated in D.C. for 13 years says it’s a “mathematical certainty” his client’s not-so-little black book includes some of Roll Call’s readers, i.e., power players in and around Congress.

Attorney Montgomery Blair Sibley, who is representing accused madam Jeane Palfrey, tells HOH Palfrey hasn’t told him if the client list includes lawmakers. “But it’s a pretty good bet,” Sibley said.

Palfrey, who denies her “adult fantasy firm” was illegal, has only generated a few thousand dollars from donations to her Web site, www.deborahjeanepalfrey.com, Sibley said, so she still is considering selling records of her decade-plus operation to pay her legal bills, which likely will run well into six figures.

Palfrey is expected to be arraigned Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia."

1. I think we're seeing the confluence of a number of events.
I wonder if some of the US Attorney firings are probably tied to this.

2. I wondered that same thing, when I read the TPM item.
Sounds like she is holding out for whoever will pay... hope someone not interested in hushing is willing to pony up. Even if (and probably likely given the whole dc thing) some dems are named as well as repubs. Given the era of repub power would guess that ratio (repub to dem) is quite high.

3. They Do Take Care Of Their Own, Don't They?
Edited on Wed Mar-07-07 09:17 PM by Robson
The feds take care of the their own, don't they. But they fail to take care of America. If it was Joe Nobody his name would be splashed all over the local newspapers. But because the clients might be Dick Morris or other connected people, we should then muzzle the testimony? I want them exposed. This is outrageous.

5. I don't know about that take care of their own thing in this case.
It sure doesn't look like too many are scared enough to fork over some $$. I realize some Dems are probably in this too, but TS. I can honestly say I'd like to see them pay her off, but if they don't care I sure as hell don't either!

6. Defense Fund
Everyone dumb enough to contribute to her defense fund will find their names in another black book.
