LIEberman: " I Would Speak At GOP Convention "
Joe 'TurnCoat' LIEberman is back and at it again!

"....On Fox News Sunday, Joe Lieberman said he would speak at the Republican National Convention if John McCain wants him to.

"I'm not gonna go to attack Barack Obama," Lieberman said. "I'm gonna go to explain why I, as an Independent Democrat, am supporting John McCain, hoping I can convince other Independents and Democrats to join me in choosing the man who is clearly more ready to be the president America needs.

8. Joe left the party in 2006
He is no longer a Democrat. He only caucuses with the Democrats to maintain his committee chairmanship. That will end soon.

7. Zell, is that you?
He's hoping McSame will make him Secretary of Defense. But too bad for him, Obama will win. My guess is, Lieberman will caucus with Republicans when the new Congress convenes in January.

23. He is not in Zell Miller territory - Miller attacked Kerry's integrity
as well as his positions, in spite of highly praising Kerry in the past. If Leiberman is honest in this quote - he is saying he would speak positively of McCain. It would be better if this were NOT at the convention. Only in these polarized time is this so unusual for there to be cross party endorsements. There used to be more - and there was no talk of throwing anyone out of the party - Guiliani is one case.

Imagine in 2004, that Lugar or Hagel, who likely did think Kerry better on foreign policy (and both seem to be on friendly terms with him) had endorsed him - explaining that Bush had made a mess of foreign policy and they trusted Kerry there and with the strong Republican Congress, he would not be able to do the domestic things they were against. This would be seen as a principled action. I think Leiberman is sincere in his hopeless foreign policy. His endorsing McCain because of that (and the fact that McCain and he were together on environmental things - 2 big issues) would be parallel to what we would have seen as principled endorsements in 2004.

24. Zell's active endorsement wasn't just about Junior or Kerry.
Edited on Sun Jul-20-08 03:24 PM by Lasher
Already Lieberman has been saying he doesn't recognize the Democratic party any more. He is doing the same thing as Zell and neither his liberal voting record nor his degree of sincerity on domestic issues can change his spots. He is a warmongering neocon, and in my book you just can't get any more evil than that.

I agree we are polarized and it is because that has been Republicans' deliberate intention. We Democrats have not realized what fools we have to be, to keep cooperating with people who see such a posture as a sign of weakness. Case in point, we can only imagine Lugar or Hagel speaking up in favor of Kerry in 2004 because it didn't happen - and guess what, we're not going to see anything like that this year, or any other. Yet we always seem to have another Zell Miller coming along with a 'principled endorsement' when it's election time.

He was put out to pasture by his own states party. It is high time for the national party to follow rank.

15. Well that and there's no such thing, really.
It's a term he made up to suit himself.

He formed his own little party in order to run, and then when someone who couldn't stand him took that over (very clever!) he just resorted to claiming "independent Democrat" status so that he could claim to remain a Dem while insisting on his sainted independence - you know, something beyond we mere mortals.

12. Apparently Bozo Joe is so
caught up in his own BS that he doesn't know that by supporting McSame and being willing to go speak at the Reptilian Convention to announce it HE IS Attacking Obama albeit indirectly. If he wants to claim to be an independent Democrat he would not endorse anyone, IMO.

21. Bingo! Thats the key in his dissension of the Democratic Party. Honest Joe would lend his support to
the skinhead party (if one existed) if they supported continued ongoing wars against arab nations. All one needs to do is listen to this shill carefully to his aggressive & distorted hate rhetoric against such nations.

26. "the skinhead party (if one existed)
NATIONAL SOCIALIST MOVEMENT -

The NSM is yet another of the several odious splinter parties seemingly created in recent years from the remnants of the old American Nazi Party of the early 1960s. "We co-operate and work with many like minded white nationalist groups such as the KKK (Ku Klux Klan), Aryan Skinheads, the Racial Nationalist Party of America and many others which are either neo Nazi or at least, racially aware of our Aryan Heritage," explains the NSM website. The NSM claims to be the largest Nazi party in the US (but so do all the other neo-Nazi splinter groups). The NSM is fielding its first candidate -- Presidential hopeful John Bowles -- in 2008. Jeff Schoep is the Commander of the NSM and boasts that Hitler is his role model. Like the other neo-Nazi groups, the NSM members march around in uniforms styled to resemble to Nazi SA brownshirts of the 1930s. The NSM vows to expel all non-Whites, Jews and gays from the US. "The leaders of the movement promise to work ruthlessly -- if need be to sacrifice their very lives -- to translate this program into action," vows the NSM website.

AMERICAN NAZI PARTY -

Exactly what the name implies ... these are a bunch of uniformed, swastika-wearing Nazis! This party is a combination of fascists, Aryan Nations-type folks, "White Power" racist skinheads and others on the ultra-radical political fringe. As a political party, the American Nazi Party has not fielded a Presidential candidate since Lincoln Rockwell ran as a write-in candidate in 1964 (he was murdered in 1967 by a disgruntled ANP member) -- nor any other candidate for other offices since the mid-1970s (although a loosely affiliated candidate ran for Congress in Illinois in a Democratic primary in 2000; and the party's Montana leader was a GOP candidate for a State House seat in 2006). The ANP believes in establishing an Aryan Republic where only "White persons of unmixed, non-Semitic, European descent" can hold citizenship. They support the immediate removal of "Jews and non-whites out of all positions of government and civil service -- and eventually out of the country altogether." This miniscule party -- while purportedly denouncing violence and illegal acts -- blends left-wing economic socialism, right-wing social fascism and strong totalitarian sentiments.
