On an SUV with a "W '04" sticker on it....
somebody had written in big letters "COWARD" in the dirt on his/her rear window, right next to the big oval sticker!

Oh, that made my day, yet it did :-)

I personally would have written "TRAITOR".

1. When I see one of those stickers...
or one of the "I stand with President George W. Bush" ones, I just shake my head and think "still?"

10. I always try to pass them
It's obvious they don't understand the consequences of their actions, and perhaps not even basic concepts like cause-and-effect!

4. We have a guy in town that is a serious RW Yahoo...
he has a circa 70's chevy van, white and well worn. It has seen some very hard work, as has the guy who drives it, I don't fault him for this at all, after all the GOP is the party of hard work=financial security.

For the 2004 election he had, at my count, 96 bumper stickers & plaque like things attached to this van for various GOP candidates. The vast majority of these were bush/cheney bumperstickers placed at various angles and of different uses of red, white and blue. He would drive all over town waving and shouting at people to remember to vote, I can't fault him for this either, as I believe every citizen should vote, however, it was kind of obvious who he wanted people to vote for.

The other day, I saw this old chevy being towed to one of our local junkyards, it had finally run out of
it's usefulness and was in great disrepair. The rear bumper was hanging by a thread, and it appeared to me that it was one of the GW bumperstickers that was barely holding the bumper on.

The irony was just too much for me to ignore.

14. Saw an old beater Ford truck with faded Clinton era RW bumper sticker:
"Where was the President when I was in 'Nam?"

Left a note: "THAT president was in school. Bush was hiding out from drug testing by going AWOL from TANG. Thank you for your service to the nation."

7. I drive a SUV with an anti-bush sticker
what does that make me?

Am I pure enough or should I remove it?

Down here in GA I see cars with pro-bush and SUVs with anti-bush. Who is the better person in your opinion?

9. The anti-Bush people, of course!
They have things like intelligence and independent thought and stuff like that! :-)

I wasn't being critical of the fact it was an SUV, I wsa being joyous at the word "COWARD" written in the dirt of that nice big canvas!

I'm not an SUV-hater like some on the DU are. With some luck, I'll be driving a Subaru Forester instead of my beater Olds in six or eight months. I'll most likely be getting the same or better fuel economy with more horsepower and versatility.

28. Trucks and work do go together.
BTW I don't buy any unwritten rule that one must drive around in a VW bug to be a good citizen. Sometimes vehicles that can haul are needed.

29. Trucks are useful vehicles. Even the giant ones.
Hummers, and Land Rovers, on the other hand, are giant and not-so-useful. I have a lot more respect for a truck than a large SUV.

30. stereotypes?
I do agree that stereotypes exist and a Hummer with a W sticker is probably as stereotypical to some as a Bug or Prius with a Hillary or Gore or Dean sticker. I happen to catch Rush Limbaugh (whom btw I rarely listen to) attempt to tell his listeners that Prius drivers are trying to make a political statement. He was quickly cut down and told he was full of shxx by a listener who said he preferred driving his wife's Prius to his Lexus. He said it was more fun to drive.

If we allow others to tell us what is or isn't PC, then we are as guilty as the right wing kool aiders. I try and think for myself on every issue.

3. I laugh when someone still proudly displays their political ignorance.
Hard to believe anyone would still have a W "04" sticker. But, regardless of what they think they might be doing to me, it doesn't make me mad.

Regardless of how stupid the sticker might be, it's their right to have it there. It sucks to have your car vandalized by someone who disagrees with you.

18. When my husband see a "W" sticker
and is able to confront the driver, he politely asks: "Hey, did you know you have a BUSH sticker on your car?" Then when the puzzled driver says, why, yes, he/she does know there's a Bush sticker, why? My husband merely responds. "Oh, OK. Just checking."
That is all.
(maybe that means nothing to the "W" driver, but it sure does amuse my husband.)

27. DAMN - I didn't know anyone was stupid enough to admit they supported W
Riding around with a "W" sticker is like announcing one's stupidity to the world.

An "I Supported W in '04" sticker = "LOOK AT ME ....I'M STUPID"
