Fox Business Channel's average daytime audience: 8,000
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/25/AR2008072502843.html

Fox News executives knew it would be a long, uphill battle to challenge CNBC when they launched a new business channel last October -- and new ratings confirm that they are right.

For the first three weeks of July, according to Nielsen figures obtained yesterday that have not been publicly released, Fox Business Network is averaging just 8,000 viewers during daytime hours, and 20,000 in prime time.

CNBC, by contrast, is drawing an average of 284,000 viewers during the day and 191,000 in prime time.

1. I'd be interested to see Bloomberg's numbers.

If there is *any* group of television watchers that won't put up with fake news, it's the financial sector.

I'll bet Bloomberg's numbers are very high. CNBC only gets good ratings because it has no competition on cable and is watched by so many idiots.

FBC never had a chance. When your "news" channel is so obviously biased, there is no way you'll be able to convince people who have money on the line to watch your channel.

2. More than 8000 people read DU every day.
Skinner, I'd love to see some stats.
How many people visit DU each day?
How many posts are composed each day?
How many new members per day?
From how many different countries do DU members hail from?
What posts have generated the higher number of responses? (I'd like to go back and read those)

Just wonderin'

7. Here's Your Answer...

The Alexis rankings show this place drew in 7,379 in its one week average...so, yep, it's pretty close between DU and Murdoch's latest waste of electrons.

11. I look at CNBC ten times a day. I've never looked at Fox Business Channel.
I usually watch a few minutes of Fox News' Neil Cavuto once a week, and try to catch 30 minutes or so of their weekend business news on Fox News. I'm simply doing recon, though. They're literally idiots.
