We must expect it, prepare for it, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT this time, as opposed to just accepting it like we did the last two times.

"we" didn't just accept it

there actually is no "we"

the supposed "We the People" is actually 300 million zombies ruled by Big Brother, who chooses the next figurehead "president" and places him in the fancy office make-believe "Oval Office" where "We the People" continue to be deluded that decisions are made

Sadly, mccains ads mocking Obama as "just a celebrity" are not far off the mark when it comes to a lot of his most zealous followers. The day after the "election" they'll bemoan his drop from #1 on the charts, then go download something new to their iPods, and go on about their lives

Those of us who actually grasp the import of what you say will be like the humans in the future in the Terminator movies, cowering in alleys fighting a losing insurgency against the takeover of the machines.

Welcome to our future, fellow Eloi.

3. We had two years to fix the problem; but none of our leaders, including

Pelosi, Reid, Clinton and Obama, bothered to do so.

I fear it's too late to do anything now. The corporate talking heads will explain away the theft of our third presidential election by intoning America was not ready for an African American president, and the American people will go back to watching their televisions, which will all be high definition by February 17th. American Idol will look better than ever!

And on to 2012 under the leadership of Pelosi and Reid, who will probably deliver increased majorities in the House and Senate. I'm sure that will make a difference. Look how much our victories in 2006 accomplished.

8. Why Obama was allowed to get this far.

4. With the ridiculous carp they're putting out..
I'm convinced they don't want it. They figure they'll let the Democrats deal with the fucked up mess they made and try again in another eight years.

5. It is terrifying to me - and keeps me up at night.
I will never forget the 2004 election and how the votes "flipped" state by state toward the end of the night.
I started howling about a stolen election right away - and found wide eyed wonder staring at me or people doubting my sanity.
Now it seems that a universal acceptance of voter fraud has set in, other than the choice of Obama it is the only thing we have going for us overseas, but there is no outrage at home.

10. To pick a nit, "election fraud" is a bit more descriptive than 'voter fraud'
;-)

11. it's not a nit
the distinction is critical

"Voter fraud" is individuals voting fraudulently. There are about five (5) such incidents identified per year. Each one represents one(1) inappropriate vote. That is what the bullshit photo-id laws are designed to prevent. They are a smokescreen to distract us from election fraud.

"Election fraud" is fraudulent conducting of the election. Each incident can represent tens of thousands of uncounted or mis-credited votes.

6. I agree
But what?

I'm looked at like a loon whenever I suggest that the last several elections have been out and out stolen. People shake their heads and tsk tsk me for being a wild-eyed conspiracy theorist.

Certainly, it seems few in gov't think it's an issue worth pursuing. So what is there that CAN be done? I think we have to start from the assumption that a close win will be turned into a loss - and so many, many more votes will be needed. But as we saw from Ohio - they'll fit the story to their desired outcome, facts be damned.

7. Several Differences...
One BIG one. This year the machines in Ohio are controlled by the Democrats...no Ken Blackwell to play fixer. This is also the case in several other battleground...and even "red" states. As Joe Stalin said, it's not who votes, but who counts 'em...and in many critical states, Democrats will be doing the counting. Could there still be problems? Sure...Florida comes to mind, but the hope is to show so strong in the Democrat controlled states...including Virginia and Colorado that Crist and his cronies can't dimple chads on us.

Also, Gramps is a lame candidate...you can't say that enough. He doesn't inspire...especially the fundies. There are gonna be a lot less church busses filled and "voter guides" handed out this year. Many fundies still feel like a cheap prom date...some more than happy to "punish" the GOOP by staying home.

Then there's the "Barr Factor"...or should I call it the Paul/Barr affect. Few polls are showing more than the beauty pageant numbers...leaving third parties out. They do so at their peril. Remember, while the GOOP holds their coven in Minneapolis...right down the street 15,000 Paulbots will also be gatting together...and its sure not to endorse Gramps. Imagine if Paul endorses Barr...then figure that into states like Georgia, Indiana, Nevada and the Intermountain states.

One last thought...Obama comes from Chicago...the home of vote early, vote often. Many in his inner circle cut their teeth on the Harold Washington "council wars" of the 80's and were involved in 2000 as well...we won't have Warren Christopher as our head lawyer.

Cheers...

9. We need to put the establishment on notice
that we are ready to take to the streets and fuck everything that the rich and corporate fat cats and military industrial complex holds dear to them, including business as usual...if they steal this election.
