I am beginning to belive the single most important thing to do is bring back the Fairness Doctrine..
If we had a fair and truthfull media there would never be another Republican elected.

Channel surfing looking for actual news these days is a waste of time.

the kind of morons who vote repuke pretty much know they are being lied to but they LIKE WHAT THEY ARE HEARING. THEY WANT TO BELIEVE IT. Not sure how we could address THAT major issue. :(

4. I don't see how it could happen in practice.
The issue has become thornier over the last 40 years with the "airwaves" playing a smaller role in media.

More importantly, the purpose can be easily circumvented by ambiguity in what makes up a "contrasting" viewpoint. For example:

1) Rush insists Obama is a Muslim.
2) Obama campaign demands a contrasting viewpoint.
3) Rush gives airtime to some stooge who argues Obama is not a Muslim, but is weak on national defense.

Ad nauseum.
