“Prisoner Boxes” in Iraq

By Russ Kick at 23 July, 2008, 12:59 pm

First Published Photographs of Wooden Imprisonment Crates

>>> In Iraq, some prisoners/detainees are kept in wooden crates known as “prisoner boxes,” so I filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the US Central Command asking for the following:

“Vanity Fair (Feb 2005 issue) has reported the existence of wood “prisoner boxes” being used by the US military in facilities in and around Baghdad. They are used to hold individual prisoners and detainees.

“I hereby request all photographs of these boxes, including empty boxes as well as boxes holding prisoners and detainees.”

Around nine and a half months later, CentCom responded by sending the three photographs on this page.

2. Cozy

Barbara Bush would be sure to point out that they like the boxes, since their homes weren't very nice in the first place.

3. This can't be 'real'?
Can it? And if it is ..... this is not being done in "my name". I do not believe in/agree with/saction or support this IN ANY WAY......other than the fact that I pay 'tax dollars' and there are criminals (with check-writing abilities RIGHT NOW), who sign on to this shit.

Nancy, oh N-A-N-C-Y..... *whistle* ..... here *girl*......@ heal...... good dog!

Pelosi is even a greater failure than the shrub! Who would have thought that even possible! And we CITIZENS are even GREATER failures if we don't 'call out' Fancy Nancy and the dancing dems.............

7. I am not arguing, I am just not getting the direct line from Iraqi prisoner boxes to Nancy Pelosi.

4. ''Throw him in the cooler.''
And two weeks later, a very different prisoner would emerge.

I'd like to say these sadists learned their thing from NAZIs and Commies, but they're the sort who deal in this stock.

5. I know chickens,
actual "cluck cluck" egg-laying chickens, who have better accommodations.

Of course, they're not terra-ists. :eyes:

8. You can simply drive a forklift up to those and move 'em
WITHOUT removing the occupant (or is that "resident"?).

Efficient little rat trap, ain't it!

9. NOT in my name. This, and everything else with this; the murders, the torture,
the spying, the disappearings, the extraordinary renditions, the raping, profiteering, lying, cheating, stealing, the invasions...

NOT IN MY NAME. It's all in the name of GEORGE W. bUSH, his entire regime, and EVERY person who did and/or still does support the bush regime and their atrocities.

10. Read "The Tiger Cages of Viet Nam" by Don Luce
The Tiger Cages of Viet Nam
Don Luce

My best friend was tortured to death in 1970. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong was a gentle person. But he hated the war and the destruction of his country. He was arrested by the U.S.- sponsored Saigon police in one of his many anti-government demonstrations. After three days of continuous interrogation and torture, he died. “He was tortured by the (Saigon) police but Americans stood by and offered suggestions,” said one of the men who was in prison with him.

Perhaps this is the biggest single difference between Viet Nam and Abu Ghraib. In Viet Nam, the U.S. primarily taught and paid the Saigon police and military to do their bidding. In Abu Ghraib and Iraq, the U.S. military is carrying out the torture themselves. There were, however, many Vietnamese who were tortured by Americans before being turned over to their Saigon allies and put into jail. Reports of suspected Viet Cong being thrown out of helicopters, peasant farm people tied to stakes in the hot sun, and young men led off to execution by U.S. soldiers are well-documented by U.S. soldiers and journalists.

The U.S. paid the salaries of the torturers, taught them new methods, and turned suspects over to the police. The U.S. authorities were all aware of the torture. (More ..)

12. Lame duck presidency combined with a coming new adminsitration
means nothing will come of this and other 11th hour releases.

The old guys are out and the new guys will say they want to "move forward".

Expect many more bombshell news items about US crimes, the bogus origins of the war. etc. See them be forgotten.

in their WWII prison camps to punish prisoners of war.

Beyond disgusting, WAY beyond disgusting.
