Pelosi IS the elitist stereotype personified
All those nasty people camping on her lawn, whining about the war and impeachment---let them eat cake!

2. Having lived there...

I have to say that the stereotypical "Elitist SF Liberal" meme is sadly accurate. That said, their numbers have never been great and their effect limited. But it seems that Nancy lives in that most rarified of bubbles, which is only strengthened by her job. Sadly, she is increasingly out of touch with us one-fodder-units and evinces that somewhere along the way, her integrity has been compromised.

She is the wrong person for the job.

3. Yet she defeated a Kucinich supporter who ran on a pro-impeachment platform 89%-11%

Are you suggesting that San Fransisco is filled with elitists?

5. If the unemployed protesters are actually representative of her constituency,
why did Sheehan lose so badly? It seems like most people in her district think she's doing a pretty good job.

6. It is reasonable to assume that if Pelosi is out of touch...
...then so are her supporters.

I think Pelosi is in an odd position: her utopia is SF itself, yet she is third in line to govern the United States. I think she gets confused between the two.

11. 11% of SF being more liberal than her is not evidence that she is out of touch, I don't think.

12. How do you define being out of touch?
Normally politicians are accused of being out of touch with their constituents. That's not the case here. So now you're asserting that her constituents are out of touch. Who are they out of touch with? You? Because they disagree with you?

9. And what makes you think these protesters are unemployed?
I've joined the protests and I work 50-70 hours a week.

13. Indeed, an unsubstantiated smear.
I've been an activist nearly my whole entire life. I started when I was 12 years old and went to an anti-war protest with my aunt. I am 50 years old now and I can tell you that most activists work and we've heard the "unemployed" or "professional activist" garbage from every faction. Mostly, though from the right.

Tell me, how exactly does the label "unemployed" deligitimize the message?

15. Go Cindy!!!
I know, I'm not supposed to support third-party candidates. But Pelosi's earned any and all attempts to throw her out of Congress.

Can I do an IBTL on my own post?
