Seems like it's only fair to get a chance for our side to ask questions of the candidates that are important to us. I'd love to see an announcement made that such an event will occur...and request both candidates to attend. I have no doubts Obama will find the time. How about McCain? Think he'd be willing to answer a few questions? I don't.

1. As soon as 85% of Americans join either group.

2. To do so would be to step outside the right wing framing comfort zone
The religion in politics debate has long been framed by the right wing - they established the debate, they set the rules for the debate, and they determine its winner - and everyone playing within their debate is playing within an argument framed entirely by the right wing.

Right wingers don't invite Democrats/Liberals to such debates to hear what they have to say but rather to challenge the Democrat/Liberal to refute the well indoctrinated right wing thinking of what that Democrat/Liberal is...(the enemy, evil, all things sinful and un American)...but you can't win because it's their debate and their framing. They make the rules - and those rules change to suit the right wing.

They accuse someone of being un-American and people start defending how they are American. The right wing wins...they have you on the defense and right wingers are laughing...because you took the bait and now are busy proving yourself to be a good American....a real American...(Same with unpatriotic)

They accuse you of being against family values (110% a right wing theme) and now you're busy proving how you are pro- family. Why? Because you took the bait. You allowed the right wing to determine that debate. You allowed the right wing to draw you in to their manufactured bullshit.

So busy dancing to the right wing tune and the right-wing power brokers are laughing the whole time.

If such a debate by the ACLU were to take place, I guarantee the right winger in the debate would be busy promoting the thinking that the ACLU is a leftist , un-American organization - because an ACLU debate wouldn't be based on a right wing talking point...so the right wing points would have to be imposed by the right wing candidate. And that's if they even agreed to such a debate....and I doubt they would. To do so would be to step outside the right wing framing comfort zone.
