" ...... a professor vs a leader ........ "
Interesting turn of a phrase. Todd SomethingorOther ("former McCain Campaign SomethingOrOther) on Hairballz, speaking of Obama vs. Captain Combover.

That digs up the old meme that being intellectual is being a loser.

These fuckers are very good at insulting with complimentary words.

1. Yes... who ever heard of a teacher being a leader.
That's preposterous!

2. My first thought, too; intelligence is now to be frowned on while
braggadocio rules? :eyes:

3. Thank you, George W. Bush
Since when have we elected a President - or any official - on the basis of "Yeah, I'd like to have a beer with that guy"?

5. being stupid is the new cool
Well it was. It's the "He's too much of a chess player" thing. We need somebody who when the time comes will go with their "gut" and not sit around and ovethink anything. Bullshit we do. We need somebody who be smart enough to do the right thing in the right way and the right time, and not go off half-cocked and get good people maimed and killed for no reason.

These people try to make it seem that a smart person will sit around thinking about how to do something while the whole world is crumbling around them. Meanwhile, we have a moron in office, and another one on the campaign trail, who do little more than talk tough while the whole world is crumbling around them.

6. It's so not cool to me and the majority of people on this board.
Sigh. The rest of the country needs to wake the hell up!

7. well yeah
But none of us would ever vote for Bush or McCain either. Too many people look at a guy who looks and sounds smart and they are ingrained to think he's sneaky or elitist. It's why these dumb but disciplined types who pretend to be Regular Joes get elected. They look and sound good enough to do the job and manage to make people feel like they are "just like them." But you get one of these idiots off message and you start seeing a George Allen type flameout or "Bomb Iran" etc.

4. how about somebody who knows what they are talking about vs
a 72 year old child who isn't any more knowledgable about anything than that punk kid who only graduated from Annapolis because his dad and grandfather were admirals?
