The gold medal female beach volleyball match is incredible
and the heck with all of the swimsuit/burka debate. They're playing in a driving rain in sand and both sides are making great plays. These are incredible athletes and I don't care what they're wearing.

This is not a spoiler. The match is still going on here in the mountain time zone.

1. Okay, I won't spoil the result as I saw the end of it
here in the Central TZ, but have to agree on how exciting it actually was - the athleticism displayed by all of the beach volleyball players has been nothing short of amazing!

3. thank you!
maybe the next Olympics they can wear something like this so the John Ashcroft types don't get all worked up over an athletes body..

5. I was so excited until................
Walsh had to specifically thank the president for everything he does. Everything he does? Like what? Geez, it really took a lot of the excitement out of the win for me. Total bush lover.

12. May and Walsh have never been shy about their support for Bush
They extended a personal invite to him to attend their practice and May was heard to invite him to spank her butt (in the photo).

It's interesting that someone who makes her fortune playing on a beach would be a Republican esp. given May's flighty tendency to drag her mother's cremains everywhere.

I grew up in a oceanfront resort ciy and hung around a beach/surf crowd for the better part of my childhood through grad school. None of that crowd would have even considered voting for a Republican much less offering words of thanks to one.

15. Well, then they just lost my support. Fuck them if they are that misguided.

13. Yep, I mentioned it on another thread...
it was a total lead balloon for me. My jaw dropped and it just left a sick, sour taste on the match for me.

I wondered about all their chumminess with shrub earlier, but her taking the time to specifically inject, during her post-win interview, "thanks" to the President just made me gag and also made it perfectly clear where they stand politically.

Huge disappointment.

6. It's a great sport and they're terrific.
Anyone who's played it (on sand) should appreciate the skills and endurance needed. May & Walsh are extraordinary!

14. Those ladies played a tough game.
They're a little too pro-Bush for me but whatever...that's their problem.
