If you have paid for your OS ... Live Gavel-To-Gavel Coverage In HD AT DemConvention.com
But if you're one of those people that use Linux, here's a big fuck you from your Democratic Party.

For the best Democratic Convention video experience, you'll need the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in and the Move Networks media player.
We’re sorry, but the Democratic Convention video web site isn’t compatible with your operating system and/or browser. Please try again on a computer with the following:
Compatible operating systems:
Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or a Mac with Tiger (OS 10.4) or Leopard (OS 10.5).
Compatible browsers:
Internet Explorer (version 6 or later), Firefox (version 2), or, if you are on a Mac, Safari (version 3.1) also works.

3. what idiot came up with that?
For a computer-saavy campaign, this is a very very major bug.

I'm using a Mac, but strongly support open source efforts like Linux.

You should post this on slashdot.org . Should get some interesting responses.

13. Why should a national political convention have corporate sponsors?
This whole corporate sponsorship thing has gotten entirely out of hand.

14. They have corporate sponsors because this is a party of, by and for corporations.
They both are. We do not matter. There will be payback for this sponsorship, believe me.

16. Yeah, I know...
My question was largely rhetorical and partly from outrage.

7. UPDATE: This silverlight shit may work better with Linux than with Windows.
Some of my old developer buddies suggested this:

http://www.dotnetkicks.com/mono/Setting_up_Moonlight_on_Ubuntu

I haven't tested it yet, but I've heard reports(unconfirmed) that it works better than the original.

Wouldn't be the first time. ;)

9. What about me? What about my needs?
For crying out loud, do they have to cater to every insignificant OS. Looks like this will work with 99% of the systems in use.

10. WOW, just WOW. It really is great to stream Barack's 2004 keynote in HD!
What's the big deal about one more plug-in or helper app?
Browsers use a lot of them all the time.
The download and install takes only a moment.

11. I'm sorry, I hope you can get over this
But to be fair, Linux people do express a lot of hatred toward MS, so I can sort of understand why they might have done this on purpose.
