principal in sons middle school announced on speaker this morning. historical time in history
the first african american barrack obama to be nominated by the democratic party to run as their candidate for presidency. (very upbeat, excited)

this is in amarillo texas

both kids at different times told me..... MOM i think principal XXXXX is a democrat. and then they told me what she announced. i told them that doesn't mean she is a democrat. it means she is an educator with integrity. that a teacher may be on an opposing side, but the can relay the facts without taking sides. she was being responsible and showing how good she is.

wanted to share cause firstly, so many here blast the schools and secondly this is a very red part of the country.

2. That's great to hear -- you have a good principal
We start school next week. My kids have stayed up late all week watching the convention. I'm so excited because my older son will have civics class this year, and I hope that they will be discussing what they learn in the context of this election season. What a learning opportunity!

8. An excellent response to your son.
Good educators are those that you can't tell who they support, but those that present the facts and allow the children how to think for themselves.
