I had not until now known how they were going to get rid of him. I think he was set up picking Palin (pure Rove) and they will not nominate him. Republican voters are typically ignorant but the leadership of the party is not ( at least from the perspective of looking out for their own interest). I just refuse to believe they are this stupid and I keep waiting for the other ball to drop. We will see I guess.
if you think the repukes are going to engage in a bloody civil war at their convention for all the world to see, you're out of touch with political reality. McCain will be the repuke presidential nominne- though I doubt Palin will last longer than another week to 10 days.
it would be political suicide for the entire party. they really have no one else that could, on short notice, fund and mount a campaign at this late date that would be effective
the best they could do is to dump palin and put in romney or pawlenty - and even that would be extremely risky
And for the next two months, I will be speculating about the "wisdom" of someone who wants to be commander-in-chief who either (a) knew his running mate's teen-age daughter was pregnant and didn't think anything of it; or (2) didn't do a very good job of vetting his selection. I've known high schoolers with better judgment than that.
