"My understanding is that Governor Palin's town of Wasilla has I think 50 employees," Obama said
Barack Obama, who earlier told reporters to "back off" stories about Palin's daughter, rejected Republican claims that Palin had as much experience as he did.

Republicans have said that after serving as mayor of a small Alaskan town, and now as a first-term governor, Palin has more executive experience than first-term senator Obama.

"My understanding is that Governor Palin's town of Wasilla has I think 50 employees," Obama said in an interview with CNN.

"We've got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year.

"You know, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month."

2. Good point for Obama regarding executive experience.
He's put together an amazing 'company' with a $40 million monthly budget. He's hired talented executives and run what everyone agrees is a very successful campaign. He is the CEO of this campaign.

4. Comparing Obama to Palin is not apples vs oranges
We must avoid this crap at all costs. When we allow such comparisons, we are diminishing Obama. Obama should be compared to McCain, not Palin. Please, I beg all of you, do not fall into this trap.

. . . is to dare Democrats to speak up about how they feel about these two, and count on us folding our hands in our laps like some kind of patricians.

There is a perfect opportunity, right now, to define Palin and wrap her weak, neo-conservative populism around McCain. Obama was obviously asked a question about her experience and he answered like ANYONE would and should.

7. He COULD have said, "Palin might not measure up to Joe BIden as Vice President but..."
HE need to stay above the fray. If not, what will happen is Obama/Palin will be linked as both marginally experienced and the race will be about Biden/McCain, which McCain can then win since, after all, he is the presidential candidate, not a VP pick.

Everyone should be VERY careful about this.

5. Leaders Must Inspire
A successful leader inspires his followers to work hard and do great things. In this way, Barack Obama is the most experienced and qualified person in this race - he beats McSame and Biden. He runs laps around Palin.
