Palin: Product of Right Wing Fundie Playbook
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 01:12 PM by itsrobert
She's been taught well

1. First get on the PTA
2. Take over the PTA
3. Get on the City Council
4. Run for mayor on wedge issue
5. Purge all employees who are not on the "right" side
6. Move on to higher office on wedge issues
7. Repeat step 5

This is and has been repeated all across the country. There are more Sarah Palins out there.

1. Excellent post.
We need to be more aware of how they operate.

2. They used to run as "stealth candidates,"
lying about who they were and what their agendas were until they got into office, and even then working mostly behind the scenes. That's how we got a critical mass of fundy nutcases into Congress. The Schiavo case is what exposed them finally, and now most of them are gone.

Palin's mistake is that she's not stealthy. That's also what got her the nod from La Haye and Dobson.

Now even MSNBC has the top story on the upper left of their home page the story of how poorly Palin was vetted.

3. When I was a kid.....
That's how they would describe how "communists" would take over some freedom-loving country

Cold War right wing paranoia aside, I think it is interesting the way an elitist vaguard type approach to seizing political power seems to the the modus operandi of the Republican party. It's like they took the cold war caricature of Marxist-Leninism and made it their own.

4. The funny thing about the radical right...
Is their strange emulation of everything they saw the Stalinists do. In the end they have become a bizarre imitation of that which they fear the most, monolithic, anti-democratic, tyrannical and all-encompassing. If the only way to defeat a police state is by becoming so as well, then the Nazis would have easily defeated both Britain and the US.
