Tried to post this to the Video section - no go and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't take

Isn't it illegal to deface currency?

For many Americans, it's a struggle to make ends meet. For Ed Rogers, a Republican lobbyist, it isn't. How do we know? Because his wife, Edwina, wraps gifts in real dollar bills.

Rogers, formerly a deputy assistant to President Bush, is Vice Chairman of lobbying firm Barbour Griffith & Rogers. Rogers lobbies on behalf of Iraqi Kurds, who want the U.S. government to guarantee their autonomy from Baghdad as well as oil wealth from the contested city of Kirkuk.

1. it IS illegal to destroy currency or deface it
but the question is, IS this money actual money or is it failed sheets? or sheets where the serial number was never applied and therefor not really currency? either way i would think there is a law or ten being broken here.

the question becomes the serial number then...if they have one then they are valid currency...and illegal to destroy. if they do NOT then i guess it would be ok...

OnEdit :

After checking with Printing and Engraving, they appear to be the real deal with serials and the lot...buying an UNCUT sheet will cost you a premium. 16 $50 notes will run you $900...

I knew a few people who would do this for their kids. It's not uncommon.
