Regardless of what happens in this election......Palin will be a future presidential candidate.
She is the RW's wet dream......

Conservative
Evangelical
Female
Attractive
Relates to Hockey/Soccer Moms
Executive experience
Quick study

Unless something really blows up in her face this election cycle, she will be a future presidential candidate. If she ends up as the VP, McCain will not run for reelection, and she will be the presumptive candidate. This assumes she doesn't screw up as VP and their administration doesn't screw America.

If they lose this election, she will be groomed and prepared to run for President in 2012.

So get used to seeing her in the political forefront for the next 20 years.

Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 07:09 PM by liberalmuse
I heard screeching and whining on my tv, and there she was. There is no way I'm going to survive this bitch for 2 more months, nevermind 4 years. I will go mad. I absolutely despise this woman more than any person who has ever lived. Fuck Alaska, for spawning this thing. And FUCK McCain for foisting this despicable *%&$ on the American people, and the world.

horrified by her. She'll fade very quickly after they lose this election. She's toxic.....

Him standing there doing some sort of bounce and pulling on his wedding ring like some old freaky perv and her screeching that fucking speech that the entire country should have memorized by now. What a fucking mess!

6. What will probably happen is, after the Admiral and Vice Trophy Wife are defeated ...
... is she will get an position with a GOP think tank. If she gets another position in government it will be as an unelected "advisor", beyond the reach of accountability.

7. Agreed, but she'll never again get the kind of greased runway free ride she's getting now.
After this election she'll have to run the primary circuit.

She'll still be formidable no doubt.

if they lose this year, Obama will beat her again next time around. If they win, Hillary will kick her ass in 2012.

15. That's certainly my hope, my only point is the rethugs have found just what
they were looking for and if not successful in this election they will make sure she is the perfect candidate in 2012.

11. Not If We Destroy Her Ass
that means going after her and her husband and children in every and any way possible! Don't tell me their off limits-bullshit, she uses them as part of her "charm" that means they are open season! I am a former US Congressional Candidate and can tell you from first hand experience how painful it can be to have the media etc pry into your family life, but if you don't want that to happen...don't run!!!!!

19. Politics & Law
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 08:32 PM by Poseidan
If it is acceptable in a court-room, it is acceptable in a political campaign. She neglects her children in favor of her political ambitions - she will neglect her country in favor of her political ambitions. Her private Christianity is fine, but if she attempts to integrate the Church and State, it makes her anti-American.

12. Assuming McCain/Palin lose in 2008, of course,
I think that Sarah Palin will be just as successful in 2012 as Dan Quayle was in 1996 and 2000 and 2004 and ....

17. Dan Quayle was a tool. He couldn't string 2 coherent thoughts together.
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 08:16 PM by Fla Dem
I think Sarah Palin is a tough, shrewd, cookie. I don't mean that in a complimentary way. Say what you want about her, but she did beat the repug Alaskan political machine. and she enjoys delivering those sarcastic remarks way too much.

22. I don't. I think she's an uneducated, dim little asshole who
got lucky in so far as the political environment in 2006. And I think she's being completely managed and programmed. Furthermore, if they lose, she's toast. for good.

23. The majority of Americans are NOT evangelical.
Most Americans are pro-choice in most situations.

She is too radical for America, and imho, America is shifting slightly left.

She will be old news fast.

(Also, I don't think she's as quick a study as she makes out. Not as dumb as Bush, maybe -- but not real smart.)

We are playing right into the their hands by giving the little dimwit so much attention.
It's another one of their "brilliant strategies" that, sadly, seems to be working.

25. I don't agree with the OP about "regardless of what happens."
She will have a major gaffe or two during the campaign, (possibly in the debate) and depending on how bad it/they are, she may be the toast of the repugs, or dead meat to the repugs.
