fucking giddy happy dancing again! woot :woohoo:

For Obama, a Multipronged Attack by McCain Camp

Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign launched a broadside against Sen. Barack Obama yesterday, accusing him of a sexist smear, comparing his campaign to a pack of wolves on the prowl against the GOP vice presidential pick, charging that the Democratic nominee favored sex education for kindergartners, and resurrecting the comments of the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.

The assault came a day before the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, when McCain and Obama are scheduled to appear together at Ground Zero during a mutually declared truce. That cease-fire is not likely to last long. With the airwaves already filling up with some of the most negative imagery of the campaign, Obama aides hinted that they would save their toughest counterpunch until after Sept. 11.

Oh on edit! I love each and every one of you DUers! Thanks for the appreciation thread! :loveya: :woohoo:

Are you certain this is referring to what you think it is?

19. No. If you want to sell papers, and you have an investigative story ready to break,
when would you break it? I mean would you break it in the middle of 9/11 reverence, a cat 3 possibly 4 hurricane that is threatening a portion of the United States or would you break it when there will be much attention paid?

14. Interesting.
I think a lot of us forget that this guy comes from the Chicago school of politics. I have no doubts he playing for keeps and I'm sure that he knows how to drop bombs that will get the most impact.

There's lots of stuff about John McCain that's just waiting to be told.

17. I thought the 60 minutes interview
really shed an interesting light into Obama's willingness to fight back. There was a question posed that suggested that Obama might not have the tenacity and real strength to stand up and fight in this campaign. When this was brought up, Obama and Biden both looked at eachother, kind of like brothers, and just laughed.

It was a quick segue into another question, but I had the distinct feeling that they were both thinking, "you have no idea what kind of fight this guy has in him, and underestimating him will be at your own peril." One of those moments where the simple look and non-verbal reaction said volumes.

So the big question now is, what have Obama's lawyers uncovered that they are going to punch back with????

25. You site the WaPo article that suggests that team Obama will not counterpunch until after 9.11, but
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 10:38 PM by Parker CA
you seem to be saying it is not even anyone on his team that is participating in breaking this story or providing the info to WaPo?

Is this just something they will be able to use to their advantage?

16. So it looks like Friday is the Breaking "Dancing in the Streets" event?
I go to this event tomorrow: http://www.communitycurrency.org/filmfestival2008.html
But will be back to check the progress of your story.
Is Obama aware of the story about to break or just lawyers you may know? If Obama knows, and is just waiting his time through tomorrow, I wonder how he will feel being there with McSame?
Too much to contemplate....

24. No one is going to run ANYTHING tomorrow
nor should they.

The focus should be on remembering 9/11.

I was thinking this earlier when there was speculation the WP would release something today or tomorrow... it's just NOT a "breaking news" time unless something truly monumental in the world happens.

I'll be patiently waiting until Friday and forgetting politics tomorrow.

Is that part of the reason why they've been more even-handed the past few days?

28. McCain gonna fall on the sword?
He pulls out for health reasons, someone else steps in, names a new VP. Media and Obama camps have no choice to go easy on him and the whole mess cuz there are serious health issues involved and no one wants to be seen taking advantage of it.
IF this is the scenario, they best do it quickly..think of all the states that will need to print zillions of NEW ballots with new names....even if the newcomet let's Palin stay on the ticket.

23. I certainly hope that
we have a counter-punch that will be strong, but this is silly.

Waiting game. We'll keep waiting and waiting and waiting until something sticks?

Lonestar, I really believe that you mean well and want the Dems to win, but I truly feel like you are unnecessarily winding DU up about this story. And now many of us are arguing with one another about the veracity of a story that does not even exist yet.
