Al Gore and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke

I am not an economic illiterate, but I am not a maven either. Like most people, I incorporate elements of the informed opinion of others on topics I do not have a comprehensive understanding of.

A while back Al Gore was on Larry King and was asked to say something positive about George W. Bush. He said that Ben Bernanke was an excellent choice, and that was the only positive he could come up with. So I incorporated a tick up of good feeling about Ben Bernanke.

I was thinking of this watching the market today. Lehman was allowed to go belly up because, unlike Bear-Stearns, the fed felt the Lehman failure was seen coming and was largely priced into the market. Watching the market fail to roll off the table today (at least in early going) it looks like they were right on at least that one specific point.

What do people think of Ben Bernanke? Smash or trash?

4. I love Al Gore but he has been known to be wrong in the past..Joe Lieberman for instance.
