I don't really believe it was a strategy in the first place. A sizable number of Dems are as business-owned as the GOP.

But to the extent they have even bothered to explain their acquiescence with nearly everything Bush has proposed, they have fallen back on saying ''You don't get in the way of someone committing suicide.''

So they vote with the GOP and wait for the natural consequences of those policies to convince the public of how disastrous they are.

But suppose the White House makes the stakes insanely high as they have with the bailout, Democrats do their usual shtick of token complaining and grousing, then vote for the bailout--but Republicans DON'T.

Then the mother of all pork and corruption belongs to the Democrats.

As they did with Social Security, Democrats need to draw a hard line, and stop this.

Passing it will not only screw the country but give the GOP a club to beat the Dems with.

1. In my Congressional district, there is an open seat...
...and the Democratic nominee Ashwin Madia said he supports giving Bush $700 billion while the Republican nominee Erik Paulsen said he's against it.

I wish Democrats would stop going along with Bush.

2. I just went to Obama's website and told him....
...how I wanted a refund of the $100 I donated to his campaign IF he votes to give Bush and his friends the $700b.

Money's tight and it's only going to get tighter. I will be very disappointed if Obama falls for this stunt.

3. What makes you think your $100 dollars is going to help you with anything if Congress doesn't act?

4. I guess you're falling for the White House's BS...
I don't expect to see a dime of my donation, nor do I want to. At this point, I'd vote for Paris Hilton over McCain to be president.

I wanted to get the point across that there are real people out there who are putting up their hard earned money backing him.

Do you think if the congress OKs this bail out, regular people will benefit from it? Investment firms will take the money and run, Bushco wants NO oversight, to give them this money would make any congressman an accomplice to their crime.
