WWHD? (What would Hugo Do?)

You may or may not like Hugo Chavez, but you can't disagree with the fact that he single-handedly saved Venezuela from Corporate Predators (much like we are facing now) in a time of economic crisis.

So rather than bash him for things we don't like, why don't we institute a program he designed to save our economy?

What does that mean?

Nationalize the banks!!! Every one!!!!

They have proven they can't manage them, so we must step in and do so.

1. Slightly off this topic ...

... I had a conversation a few days ago with a Venezuelan-born woman, who had just come back from there.

She said that it was actually dangerous to be on the streets and claimed that her side visit to Colombia made her feel much safer.

2. Chavez' rule is a bell curve

Like most people who assume too much power, they have a waning positive effect. Chavez started going downhill right about when he wanted the Constitution rewritten.

He started off great - nationalizing the things that needed to be nationalized, etc...

He just needed to step down after that, have about 4-8 years of transition rule from someone close, but not that close to him, and then 4-8 years of moderate rule.

Problem is, the axiom always proves true Power corrputs. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
