1. Nothing. The Swap Market (credit/default/derivatives) is worth $50 Trillion.

at least. 2 - 3 times bigger than the stock market. It's an invisible meltdown that cannot be stopped.

5. I'm wondering who is it that loses if
these seemingly private bets concerning a third party mortgage can't be paid? And, are these credit default swaps anything more that a glorified Bookie system? But more importantly, I feel that there should be an honest accounting of how this mess came to be in the first place and an explanation given to the American people sans the BS spin and doubletalk. I would trust Dennis Kucinich to lead such an endeavor. Only then could the American people decide whether they even care to give their hard earned tax dollars to the people who caused the crisis to begin with.

3. it is just a market correction
Worthless properties will be jettisoned. That will be all of us that they will get rid of. But who needs us? So long as the market is healthy.
