We are in uncharted territory. But we do know that allowing credit to shrivel up and die leads to, at the very least, recession, and probably a depression. History bears this out; as do today's post-bill-failure events. 1.1 trillion dollars gone, for good. Anyone who thinks that won't have a huge impact on the economy in general is too committed to their opinion on this bill to see common sense.

I do find it odd that a site that is supposedly for Democrats is so anxious to disbelieve the very people they supposedly support, including their candidate for President. If you really despise anyone who supports this bill so much, how can you support Obama for president?

But, there's a lot of concern about relieving the pressure that continues to build behind the dam (our growing debt) which has been removed from consideration in this legislation. This has the look of setting lifeboats out for the crew and expecting them to come back after saving themselves and rescue us.
